hy guys,

i got few interview questions i need someone to answer urgently:

1)If you cant get to the root, you try to fsck it, but gets errors to read file systems. What steps do you take to recover the host before you see if there is any data corruption on the root drive?

2)If you fsck it and all looks good, you reboot, host comes up clean, what are things you would look at to see why the host crashed?

3)
What do you use to start service back up, what commands?

4)If you have a client that send an email they can’t connect to a database server from their desktop, no error codes. What could you do from the client side to make sure the database host is even listening?

5)If I have a LUN that’s been presented to the box, how would I present that to a local zone?

6)Where would I do the DFS configuration?

7)If I have SAN space and want to create a file space, and create a local zone. What do I need to do to create another file system and present it to a local zone? Assume the SAN is already there.

8)If you did a netstat and it is listening, what can you do from the client side that to see if the port is open.

Regards
Charneet

Hey there,

Are you interviewing for this job or do you have to interview someone?

I only ask the question because, if you need to be able to answer these questions in an interview for a job, you would be doing yourself a favor by finding some good online resources on unix/linux administration basics and learn from them (even if just to find the answers and jot them down). Otherwise, if you get the job, you'll be knee-deep in trouble on your first day.

Best wishes,

Mike
