Skills required are Linux (ideally SUSe) Websphere and iplanet or general Sunone.<br />

I have roles ranging from basic system admin to the team leader. These are permanent roles and salary ranges from around 35k for the basic System admin to circa 45k for the Senior and 50k package for the team leader. <br />

I have detailed the senior role below:<br />

IBM Websphere & Linux middleware web based technologies System Admin required in Essex, salary negotiable, depending on experience. <br />
<br />
Ideally you will have 3 years hands on experience with Websphere, Apache and iPlanet sitting on SUSe Linux platforms. <br />
<br />
You will be working in a modern Datacenter covering over 120 Web Based Servers in a team of 10 performing day-to-day break/fix operational support, security of the systems and design and implementation of new systems. <br />
<br />
Basic 35 hour week spilt over 2 shifts 0700 to 1500 and 1100 to 1900, Monday to Friday rota based. <br />
<br />
Experience of Apache, SQL clusters, Java or Perl an advantage.<br />

The responsibilities will include day to day administration duties, installs, configs, rebuilds, maintenance, upgrades, performance tuning, patching and best practices.<br />

Senior SUN Solaris Unix Support Administrator with Sun Clustering skills. <br />
<br />
You should have a good understanding of Solaris Unix with at least 4 years commercial exposure. This is a very hands on role based onsite to provide support for one of the world’s largest multi-national companies. <br />
<br />
Essentially the role is to join a small team supporting a mix UNIX servers mainly Solaris Servers plus a group of Clustered Sun/Solaris Servers. You should have experience of Sun cluster software. <br />
<br />
The requirement is to provide 3rd line support and maintenance to the customer for a mix of Unix Servers supporting a variety of applications. The expectation is that operating systems errors will be diagnosed and corrected by the Systems Engineer, application faults will be passed onto the relevant application support team and hardware faults will be diagnosed and passed back to the relevant hardware maintainer. <br />

		<description><![CDATA[<span style='font-family: Arial'>Toshiba Research Europe Ltd, Cambridge Research Lab (CRL) are looking for a research software engineer for our ASR R&D. The successful candidate will work on the implementation and design of speech recognition decoders. This post would suit someone with a PhD in the area or a recent 1st class graduate. The role will initially focus on software engineering.</span><br />

<span style='font-family: Arial'>Required:<ul class='bbc'><li>Degree in a relevant subject<br /></li><li>Very strong software skills in C, Perl/Python and Linux<br /></li><li>Knowledge of pattern processing or Viterbi decoding<br /></li><li>Good software architecture design skills<br /></li><li>Experience of working in a team<br /></li><li>Good English and communication skills</li></ul>Preferred:<ul class='bbc'><li>Background in speech recognition or HMM based pattern processing<br /></li><li>PhD or 1st class degree<br /></li><li>Industrial coding experience<br /></li><li>Knowledge of more than one major European language</li></ul>The CRL Speech Technology Group is a multinational team of dynamic individuals, based in the centre of a beautiful university town. You will need to be hands on and capable of managing a team of 10 people and take control of projects.<br />
<br />
Technical skills required for this role include VCS (Veritas Cluster Server), LINUX (Redhat) and UNIX (Solaris).<br />

The client will pay up to a £90k base salary + full banking benifits + bonus - banking is useful but not essential.<br />
