Advertising on UNIX/Linux Forum

There are two ways you can advertise on UNIX/Linux Forum:

The banner ads are available at the top or bottom of every page that a user is likely to see, apart from this one (the advertising page). The text links are only available at the bottom of the same pages. Pictures showing the advertising areas can be seen below:

PLEASE NOTE: None of the advertising methods on UNIX/Linux Forum involve advert rotation, so the advert slot which you pay for will be dedicated to your advert for 100% of the pageviews.

Both of the above advertising methods will give you the following benefits:

More info is as follows:

  1. Text Link

Where: Available at the bottom of each page, within the "Partners" section.

How Many: The number of text links available for lease changes depending on demand.

    Examples Bottom of Page

Costs Variable, depending on requirements, but very reasonable!

  2. Banner ad (234 x 60)

Where: Available at the top and bottom of each page, either in the title bar or underneath the "Partners" section.

How Many: See section below entitled "The number of bannerad slots".

    Examples Top of Page

  3. Banner ad (468 x 60)

You may purchase each advert slot for a maximum of 3 months at a time, giving you the following advantages:

 - You are protected for 3 months against potentially rising advertising costs.

 - You do not have to renew your lease when the first or second month comes to an end.

The number of bannerad slots:

In terms of small advert slots (234x60) there are 2 slots at the top and 4 slots at the bottom.

In terms of large advert slots (468x60) there is 1 slot at the top and 2 slots at the bottom.

Depending on the number of advert slots in use, and the size of those slots, there will be a varying number of slots available for lease.

If you are unsure of how many slots are currently available, just send us an email and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

How expiries are handled:

You will be notified 1 week before your advert slot us due to expire. During this week, you have the opportunity to renew the lease for up to 3 months at the prices listed on the day of renewal.

If your advert slot expires before you have renewed your lease, the slot will go back onto the open market for anybody to lease for a maximum of 3 months.

Currently accepted payment methods are:

More details regarding these payment methods will be given out on request.

Please also note that i reserve the right to resell any advert slot which has expired. It is up to you, the advertiser, to ask me for renewal before the slot expires, otherwise you may lose the slot for at least a month (depending on the contract purchased by the new advertiser). Also note, however, that i will not simply sell your advert slot if i know you still require it. Please read the paragraph above entitled "How expiries are handled".

I also reserve the right to remove any advert without notice. If i do this, however, you will be refunded for the remaining time which you had paid for, but have been unable to use.

And finally, if you require an advert slot which is currently occupied, you will unfortunately have to wait until that advert expires (the date of which can be discovered by emailing the address below).
